The international journal data collection is designed to curate study sites and their associated data published in international peer-reviewed journals. This dataset inventory is regularly updated (last updated: 2025-06-16). Among these, datasets contributed by lead authors will have been submitted to the Neotoma Paleoecology Database, a global-scale repository for paleoenvironmental data. (Click to view datasets uploaded to Neotoma as of 2025-06-16.)
The map on the right displays the locations of study sites classified into paleo-sites (n = 72) and surface sites (n = 256). In the right-sided map, the paleo-sites (marked as circles) refer to locations where proxy-based recoreds were produced, and the surface sites (marked as orange triangles) represent locations where modern surface samples were collected. Each marker provides access to bibliographic references, site descriptions, proxy types, and geochronological data.Clicking a site marker (The cursor changes from 🤚 to 👆 when a marker is clickable.) opens a pop-up window displaying site-level metadata. A downloadable tabular geochronological dataset is available via the “Download File” link in each pop-up. Each entry also includes a PublicationID (e.g., Pub-052); clicking the ID reveals the full citation information.
Paleo-site markers are color-coded by six types of depositional environemtns: 1) Open Coastal Zone, 2) Estuary, 3) Lagoon, 4) River, 5) Volcanic Cone, and 6) Others.
